Al has over 20 years management experience in high-tech sales and marketing with companies such as IBM, Apple, Lexis-Nexis, the Thomson Corporation and E-Net. He is a former owner of a Computerland store in Southern California.
 
Early in his career, Al spent three years as a college instructor and department chair in Physics and Mathematics after obtaining a Master’s Degree in Physics from UCLA. In the early 90’s, Al was a member of the organizing committee for what became the Community Bank of the Bay. He also served as the first president of the affiliated non-profit, the Local Economic Assistance Program, in Oakland. He has participated on the boards of many non-profit organizations and is pleased to contribute to the economic health of the Bay Area through his work with the SBDC.
 
Al directs the services, staffing, and planning activities of the SBDC, in addition to providing direct consulting services to SF SBDC clients.

Gabriela Campos-Sapp, Assistant Director

Gabriela serves as the Assistant Director and Loan Counselor for the San Francisco SBDC.  She has over 15 years of experience in commercial lending, business development, financial analysis and government contracts administration with USAID for projects in Latin America. Besides working for financial institutions and other private and government organizations, Gabriela was self employed for over 8 years as a commercial loan broker, so she understands all the challenges small businesses have in generating and growing revenue.  Gabriela enjoys counseling and training small business owners in her native language Spanish.  In her free time, she enjoys learning all types of dances but especially salsa dancing, her favorite.

Gabriela has a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from University of Lima in Peru, and a Master of Business Administration from San Francisco State University.
